Privacy Policy

AURIDEI ("we," "our," "the app") is a web app that lets you browse and listen to internet radio stations from around the world on a 3D globe. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Who operates this app

AURIDEI is operated by Soursop, LLC. If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

What we collect, and why

Location (optional, and only if you ask for it)

The "Near Me" feature asks your browser for your location so it can find nearby stations. This happens only if you tap that feature — it is never requested automatically. Your coordinates are used entirely inside your own browser to calculate distances; they are never sent to our servers or stored by us in any form.

Data stored only in your own browser (or synced, if you sign in)

The app keeps a number of things locally on your device using your browser's storage, so it remembers your preferences between visits. Most of this never leaves your device and we cannot see it:

• Favorite stations and recently played history — synced to your account (Firestore) once you sign in, so the same list follows you across devices; stays local-only if you don't
• Saved songs — same as favorites: synced to your account once you sign in, local-only otherwise
• Volume, mute state, and other player preferences
• Which stations have been unreliable, so the app can skip them for you
• How many times you've played each station, used to show you your own most-played favorites and per-country/per-genre leaders — synced to your account once you sign in, same as favorites

Clearing your browser's site data for auridei.com will erase the local copy of all of this. If you've signed in, your favorites, saved songs, and listening history also live in our database until you delete your account or ask us to remove them — see "Data retention" below.

Account information (only if you create an account)

Creating an account is optional and not required to use the app. If you sign in with email/password or Google, we receive your email address and, if you provide one, a display name, handled through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). We use this solely to let you access your own account.

Separately, every visitor — including those who never create an account — is automatically given an anonymous, random identifier in the background. This has no visible sign-in step and collects no personal information; its only purpose is to let the "like" feature below tell one visitor's votes apart from another's.

AI assistant (optional, and only if you set it up)

You can optionally connect your own API key from Google Gemini, OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), or xAI (Grok) to power smarter voice and text command understanding. If you do: your key is stored only in your own browser's local storage, and when you use a voice or text command, that command's text is sent directly from your browser to whichever provider you chose, using your own key — it never passes through AURIDEI's servers, and we have no visibility into it. Each provider's own privacy policy governs what happens to that request on their end. This feature does nothing unless you deliberately set it up; without it, voice commands are matched entirely by AURIDEI's own built-in, non-AI parser, as they always have been.

Public station likes

You can "like" a station, which is a public signal visible to everyone (distinct from your private Favorites list, which only you can see). We store which stations you've liked, tied to your anonymous identifier or account, in a database (Google Firestore) so that we can display accurate, tamper-resistant like counts and a "Most Liked" leaderboard.

Public play counts

Every time a station is played, a public play count for that station goes up by one, powering the "Most Played" leaderboard. This is a simple aggregate number per station — unlike likes, it isn't tied to your identity or any per-visitor record, and it doesn't affect your own private "Top Signals" view, which is calculated only from your own device's history and never leaves your browser.

Error reports

When something in the app breaks, an automatic error report is sent to Sentry, a service that helps us find and fix bugs. These reports are configured to collect as little as possible: they include the error itself and which browser it happened in, but no IP address, no account details, and no recording of your session. We use them solely to fix problems.

Third-party services this app talks to

AURIDEI runs almost entirely in your browser. That means your browser communicates directly with several outside services to fetch station data, map imagery, and other content — we do not proxy or see most of this traffic ourselves. Each of these services may independently log standard technical information (such as your IP address) under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review:

Radio stream connections

When you play a station, your browser connects directly to that station's own streaming server — the audio never passes through AURIDEI's servers. The station's own operator (not AURIDEI) receives your IP address and basic technical details (such as your device's operating system) as a normal, unavoidable part of any internet radio stream being played, the same way it would if you visited that station's own website directly. Each station's own privacy practices apply to that connection, and we have no visibility into or control over them.

Advertising

AURIDEI may display ads served by Google AdSense to help support the free service. If ads are active, you'll be asked to accept or decline personalized advertising before any ad-related script loads or any advertising cookie is set — declining is fully respected, and you won't be asked again. You can review or change your choice in your browser's site settings for auridei.com. Cookies and similar technology

AURIDEI itself does not use tracking cookies or analytics. If advertising is active (see above), Google's advertising technology may set cookies once you've consented. Firebase Authentication uses minimal local storage to keep you signed in between visits, if you've created an account.

Children's privacy

AURIDEI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the app streams live, unmoderated radio content from independent broadcasters, it is not intended for use by children without parental supervision. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will remove it.

Data retention

Data that lives only in your own browser (recently played, dead-station skip list, volume and other preferences, and favorites if you've never signed in) stays there until you clear your browser's site data for auridei.com — we have no automatic deletion schedule for it because we never see it in the first place.

Account data (your email, if you create an account), synced favorites, and public like records are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account — from within the app or by request, see Delete Your Data — we delete this data immediately. We do not currently run an automatic deletion schedule for inactive accounts.

Your rights and choices

You can exercise any of the following by contacting us at the email address at the bottom of this page. Some of these are specifically guaranteed under the GDPR (if you're in the EEA or UK) or the CCPA (if you're a California resident); we apply the same practical rights to everyone regardless of location.

• Access: ask us to confirm what data we hold about you and why.
• Rectification: ask us to correct data that's inaccurate or incomplete.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your account and associated data — or use the in-app Delete account option for immediate self-service deletion. See our Delete Your Data page for exact steps and what's removed. Most of your data already lives only in your own browser and can be cleared there directly at any time, without needing to contact us.
• Restriction: ask us to pause processing of your data while a dispute about it is resolved.
• Portability: ask for a copy of the data you've given us in a format you can take elsewhere.
• Objection: object to a specific use of your data, including personalized advertising — see the Advertising section above for the direct consent toggle.
• Withdraw consent: anywhere we rely on your consent (like advertising), you can withdraw it at any time with no effect on processing that already happened.
• Location: you control this entirely — the app only requests it when you tap "Near Me," and your browser will always prompt you before sharing it.
• Lodge a complaint: if you're in the EEA or UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority if you believe we've mishandled your data.

Content on this platform

AURIDEI is a directory that links to independently operated radio stations; we do not create, control, or take responsibility for their content. If you believe a station is broadcasting something illegal, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate, please contact us using the details below — include the station name and a description of the concern — and we will review it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
